Maryam Basir talks ALLBLK‘s ‘Lace‘

Maryam Basir recently joined host Elias in the cave. Maryam stars as the title character in the new ALLBLK legal drama, “Lace.” The show follows Maryam as Lacey McCullough, a prolific Los Angeles lawyer who constantly blurs the lines between good and bad as she fights to get the best possible outcome for her clients. A multi-dimensional character, Lacey is very calculated and smart and is always a move ahead of everyone else.
Maryam booked the role of Lacey with no audition. Producers of the show had seen Maryam in recent roles such and decided Maryam would be perfect for the role of Lacey. After a call to her manager, Maryam found herself cast as the lead role in the series. The experience was entirely surreal and a dream come true for Maryam.

Brandon Severs talks about playing Terrell Hayward on HBO Max‘s ‘Head of the Class‘

Brandon Severs recently joined host Elias in the cave! Brandon can be seen starring in HBO Max’s comedy series, “Head of the Class” opposite Isabella Gomez and Robin Givens. A reboot of the popular 1980’s sitcom of the same name, the 2021 series follows a group of overachieving high school students who meet their greatest challenge: first time teacher, Alicia Gomez (Gomez). Brandon shines as Terrell Hayward, an athletic and bright student who is all about team mentality and the optimist in a class of stressed-out overachievers. He is also the son of Darlene (Givens), from the original series, who is now the co-president of the Parents' Association. “Head of the Class” debuted on November 4, 2021 with all ten episodes.
Brandon was also recently seen as Liam Carter in the Disney+ series, “Diary of a Future President” which released its second season on August 18, 2021. In 2020, he was seen in Quibi’s award-nominated action series “#FreeRayshawn” opposite Laurence Fishburne. From 2016-18, he starred as Dusty in Disney XD’s hit hidden-camera prank series, “Walk The Prank.”

Alexander Sharp & Peter Malone recently joined host Elias in the cave! The duo are making their U.S. feature film debut with Wired Shut on November 30th, 2021 starring Natalie Sharp (CW’s The Flash), Blake Stadel (CW’s Riverdale) and Behtash Fazlali (CW’s iZombie).
 
Directed by Alexander Sharp and written and producer by Alexander Sharp and Peter Malone Elliott, the film is a horror/thriller with the sub-genre of home invasion. They were inspired by the classics like Stephen King’s Misery, Martin Scorsese’s Cape Fear, and Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window.

Lovell Adams-Gray talks about his role on season 2 Power Book II: Ghosts on STARZ

Lovell Adams-Gray recently joined host Elias in the cave! Lovell Adams-Gray, a Toronto, Ontario native who can be seen as one of the stars in the Starz series, “Power Book II : Ghost” , a spin-off of their hit series “Power” from executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. Lovell plays “Dru Tejada,” the unlikely son of Mary J Blige's character “Monet.” An artist by day and up-and-coming drug lord by night, Dru has no desire to be part of the Tejada drug cartel, but has no choice since it has been in the family's DNA since his parents got married. “Power Book II : Ghost” season 2 premieres November 2021.
Recently, Lovell starred in the Canadian series “The Coroner” on CBC, about a coroner who investigates unexplained or sudden deaths in the city of Toronto. As well as Netflix’s series “Guilty Party” released in 2021. In 2019, Lovell was nominated for the Canadian DORA Award for his theatre performance in MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM in Toronto's Soulpepper Theatre. He also guest starred on pilots for CBS and ABC.

Alix Lapri recently joined host Elias in the cave! Alix starred as Effie in the final season of Starz’s hit show POWER and reprises her role in the spinoff series GHOST also for Starz.
Previously, she appeared in the Gerard Butler film DEN OF THIEVES for STX and was a recurring on REED BETWEEN THE LINES for BET. She also had roles in ABC's RED BAND SOCIETY and D.J. Caruso's STANDING UP.

Fernando Carsa talks about his role on Apple TV+ ‘ACAPULCO‘

Fernando Carsa recently joined host Elias in the cave! Fernando currently stars as Memo in Apple TV+’s new bilingual comedy series “Acapulco.” Based on the 2017 film “How To Be A Latin Lover” starring Eugenio Derbez and Salma Hayek, the series follows Maximo (Enrique Arrizon), a young Mexican man whose dream comes true when he gets the job of a lifetime at the hottest resort in Acapulco.
Born and raised in Colima, Mexico to actor parents, Fernando moved to the U.S. with his eyes set on Broadway. He went on to attend Fullerton College where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Theatre Arts, before becoming the first transfer student in six years accepted into UCLA’s Ray Bolger Musical Theater Program. Serendipitously, Fernando booked “Acapulco,” which marks his television debut, six months following his graduation from UCLA.

Alex Collins talks about his role as Dr. Mid-Nite on CW‘s ‘Stargirl‘

Alex Collins recently joined host Elias in the cave! Alex was recently seen on CW's 'Stargirl as Dr. Mid-Nite. Collins was excited at the opportunity to take over the Dr. Mid-Nite role, adding “Working on this show has been a career highlight. Geoff Johns has created a warm and familial environment on set and stepping into a role played originally by such an experienced actor as Henry Thomas could have been intimidating and nerve-wracking were it not for being welcomed by Johns and the entire cast and crew. Brec Bassinger went out of her way to make me feel as if I’d been there since day one, and working with Anjelika Washington was such a treat. And who doesn’t want to play a legendary superhero, don the tights, super suit, and cape? Now, where’s my owl?”
While the CW’s Stargirl is Collins’ most recent role, he’s no stranger to the small screen. Audiences have seen his often rugged and brooding characters on HBO’s Lovecraft Country and True Detective, FOX’s The Gifted, and AMC’s Turn: Washington’s Spies. Besides his many television stints, Collins has also appeared in several major studio feature films. Among the titles are the Warner Bros thriller The Accountant, directed by Gavin O’Connor and starring Ben Affleck, Clint Eastwood’s dramatic bombing biopic Richard Jewell, and Rob Reiner’s Iraq War historical drama Shock & Awe, starring Woody Harrelson and James Marsden.

Emily Ruhl recently joined host Elias in the cave! Emily has established herself as a top model and she is now expanding her talents into writing, directing and producing with her short film BLUE MOON.
The project is a vibrant vignette of a love story that takes place in a single night. It follows two young women through Los Angeles as they explore the depths of themselves. Additionally, she co-wrote and produced the short film’s theme song called HER. Ruhl is in production for her second short film where she will star as the lead actress.
She recently won “Best Director short” at the New Creators Film Awards, “Best First Time Director” at the Rome Movie Awards, and “Best Romatic short” at the Independent Short Award

Tunji Kasim recently joined host Elias in the cave! Tunji is known for his role as Ned ‘Nick’ Nickerson on The CW’s hit supernatural thriller/drama series “Nancy Drew”. Based on the iconic books created by publisher Edward L. Stratemeyer and written by a variety of authors under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene, the show follows brilliant teen sleuth Nancy Drew (Kennedy McMann) as she solves mysteries in her hometown of Horseshoe Bay, Maine. Tunji instantly became a fan favorite as Nick, a former teenage convict (also Nancy’s ex-boyfriend) who is forced to confront his previous life in Florida, while working to help solve crimes alongside his new friends in Maine. Season three of “Nancy Drew” premiered on October 8, 2021.

Román Zaragoza talks about his role as Sasappis on CBS‘ ‘Ghosts‘

Actor, Director, and Producer Román Zaragoza recently joined host Elias in the cave! Román can be seen starring in CBS’ highly anticipated, upcoming comedy series “Ghosts.” The show, adapted from the hit 2019 BBC One series of the same name, follows Samantha (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) a couple who receive a beautiful country home, only to find it is falling apart and inhabited by a number of previous deceased residents. Román shines as Sasappis, a blunt troublemaker who tries to fill eternity by having a little fun and creating some drama.
On the film front Román serves as a producer on the upcoming short film “This Is Their Land,” which is currently in post-production. The film, a passion project for Román, takes place during the Modoc War of 1872-73 and follows the brave, Modoc Civic Leader Captain Jack as he negotiates for peace in his homeland against the U.S. army, and the sacrifices he is forced to make for the sake of his people. “This Is Their Land” is slated to hit the festival circuit in 2021-22.
